Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., anticipated to be one of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, is reportedly opting out of participating in any testing at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine this week, as per a report by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Monday. The news was initially reported by Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
Additionally, Rapoport mentioned that Harrison is unlikely to undergo testing at Ohio State’s pro day.
Interestingly, Harrison is navigating the draft process without an agent, indicating a unique approach compared to most prospects.
The son of Indianapolis Colts legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, Marvin Jr. has a notable football pedigree but will have limited involvement in this week’s combine activities.
Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network draft analyst, ranks Marvin Harrison Jr. as his No. 2 overall prospect and projects him as a top-five pick in the draft.
Marvin Jr. isn’t the sole high-ranked wide receiver choosing to abstain from testing at the combine. LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, ranked as Jeremiah’s No. 7 overall prospect and No. 3 wide receiver, plans to attend the combine for interviews but will defer testing until his pro day on March 27, according to Rapoport.
On the other hand, Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze, Jeremiah’s No. 2 wideout, intends to participate in running and testing activities at the combine.
