Despite swirling speculation regarding the Chicago Bears’ quarterback situation and the potential drafting of a new signal-caller, Bears wide receiver DJ Moore remains resolute in his support for Justin Fields.
Speaking on NFL Total Access, Moore reiterated his belief that Fields outshines any quarterback prospects available in the upcoming draft. “I still don’t think they compare to Justin right now,” Moore emphasized regarding the draft prospects.
Moore’s steadfast endorsement of Fields is grounded in their successful partnership on the field. Last season, Moore enjoyed a career-best performance, tallying 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns, all while collaborating with Fields.
“The relationship jelled real well from the beginning,” Moore reflected on his connection with Fields since joining the Bears. “Since I got traded, he was in contact, and we started throwing together, so it made the transition into games and everything easy.”
Having endured quarterback instability throughout his career, Moore values the chemistry he’s developed with Fields and is likely unenthusiastic about restarting the process with a new quarterback.
While the Bears possess the top pick in the draft, there’s speculation about potential trade scenarios. However, Fields, despite flashes of brilliance, holds a modest 10-28 record since joining Chicago as a first-round pick in 2021.
As the Bears navigate their quarterback dilemma, Moore remains open to the possibility of adding another talented receiver to complement him. “They got some real talented ones [in the draft],” Moore commented, expressing interest in prospects like Marvin Harrison Jr.
Ultimately, the Bears’ draft strategy and quarterback decision will shape their future, with Moore and the rest of the team eagerly awaiting the outcome.
